Shavuot is the historical marker of Moses receiving the Torah on Mount Sinai. According to legend, the Israelites overslept the morning of the giving of the Torah. To “repair” our behavior on the night of the original Shavuot, the kabbalists created a gathering, called Tikkun L’eil Shavuot, or “Repairing the Night of Shavuot,” in which we stay up all night learning.

At Congregation Beth Elohim, we learn from each other and share food (especially cheesecake). For this popular annual event, congregants and clergy prepare teachings on a range of topics, from Torah to games to music. Join us at 8 p.m. for a brief service and at 8:15 to start our evening of learning. We will be spend some time outdoors (depending on the weather) and hybrid via Zoom. Please register for Zoom credentials.
