Shabbat Tzedek and Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of Social Justice

Since 1992, Temple Israel has devoted the Shabbat that precedes Martin Luther King Jr. Day to celebrating the values and life of Dr. King. We call this special Shabbat evening “Shabbat Tzedek,” a Sabbath of Justice. Hosted by Temple Israel’s Racial Justice Initiative in partnership with clergy, we welcome over 800 people from the TI community and our neighbors to celebrate Shabbat and learn from an invited speaker.
