Are you passionate about making change in the world but don’t know where to start? Do you want to connect with other Jewish girls and nonbinary teens to discuss the racial and gender injustices we see in the world? Do you want to explore how to use creative arts and performance to do something about it?
Kol Isha is an arts-based collective that offers a brave space for Jewish girls, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming teenagers to explore the intersections of racism, sexism and antisemitism in our lives and communities. Our collaborative work is grounded in a Jewish commitment to social justice and community engagement. Through creative exploration, performance activities, social justice education and story sharing, we will build a collective understanding of the intersections of race, gender and Judaism. You do not need any theater or activism experience to join!
The project will meet twice a week at Temple Israel of Boston this May and June. Space is limited and we will let folks know on a rolling basis until we’re all filled.
