In celebration of our year of Shmita Learning, Nehar Shalom & Ganei Beantown are organizing a community skillshare. Shmita is the Sabbatical Year, and starts this Rosh Hashanah 2014/5775. Shmita teaches us the value of a sharing economy. In a contemporary context, a skillshare is a great way to embody this value.
What is the thing that you love and are able to teach others?…gardening, juggling, knitting, hair cutting, canning, wood carving… We are looking for community members to share their skills with others in a one-hour workshop. Workshops will be held around Jamaica Plain from 3-5:15 pm. The day will culminate with a Lag b’Omer celebration at Nehar Shalom from 5:30-7 pm.
