When lighting the Hanukkah menorah, we remember the Maccabees’ second-century BCE victory over the Greeks. We also remember the oil that was meant for one night, but that actually lasted for eight. Many Jews interpret a message of sustainability and resource conservation. Another message is the abundance of family as we gather around increased light for eight nights in a row.
To help you (and those celebrating with you!) light the Hanukkah candles, we created this easy-to-follow, printable reference guide. The prayers and instructions for adding and lighting candles are included. (Yes, there’s a specific direction for each!)
