Nine “Notorious RBG” Gifts

United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (aka “Notorious RBG”) started championing human rights before she even sat on the bench. She was one of nine women in her first-year Harvard Law School class of hundreds, beginning her mark in history and paving the way for future “flaming feminist litigators.”

Since her 1993 appointment to the country’s highest court, Justice Ginsburg has led the charge for women and minorities, advocating for equality and giving them voices in her fiery court opinions. Not one to ever be silenced or let others speak for her, she does not hold back: “When I’m sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court] and I say, ‘When there are nine,’ people are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that” (from her memoir, “My Own Words”).
