LimmudBoston—Limmud means ‘study’ in Hebrew. The LimmudBoston conference offers wonderful text sessions, several from a faculty member of the Pardes program in Jerusalem, as well as from US-based Brits who have been devoted to Limmud UK conferences for years.
Alex Israel, representing Jerusalem’s Pardes school, is offering two sessions, “Religious & Secular in Israel: Room for Optimism?” and “Jewish Power and its Dangers.” In addition to his faculty responsibilities, Alex serves as director of Community Education at Pardes.
Jeremy Bruce, the head of school at the Hebrew High School in Hartford Connecticut, an avid Limmud (UK) participant, is offering responses to the election in, “G-d Save the Queen! Hail to the Chief! Who Would Judaism Vote For?” Jeremy is passionate about how Jewish philosophy and how Judaism interacts with the modern world. Jeremy’s wife, Jo Bruce, is offering a look at the First Commandment in “Belief in G-d: Commandment or Good Advice? An In-Depth Look at the First Commandment.” Jo currently teaches Bible at the Hebrew High School of New England.
