Are you and your partner looking for Jewish community in Boston? Honeymoon Israel (HMI), a nonprofit organization connecting young couples to Jewish life, is here for you! HMI helps young couples with at least one Jewish partner bring Jewish life and understanding into their homes in a personal, meaningful way. Now more than ever, young couples are searching for a Jewish community to celebrate the good times, lean on during the hard times and navigate life, love and Judaism.

HMI is now accepting applications for its next cohort out of Boston! The organization plans to send its next Boston trip to Israel June 19-29, 2025. Applications close Dec. 3, 2024.

HMI’s highly subsidized group trip to Israel gives couples the opportunity to see Israel for themselves, hear different perspectives, and experience why Israel is so important to the Jewish people. But even when travel to Israel isn’t possible, HMI’s local community programs provide connection and a way in.

This is a unique time to travel to Israel—its society has forever changed in the last year. The HMI experience has been redesigned to not only ensure safety but to reflect this new reality. The itinerary features perspectives from Israelis and Palestinians, and couples get to ask questions, gain perspective and experience the multifaceted Israeli community, something no news headlines can provide.

HMI’s participant base is made up of young couples with diverse cultural, racial, religious, gender and sexual identities.

To be eligible:

  • Couples should be committed and/or married life partners between ages 25-40 (at least one partner must be between 25-40 at the time of the trip, and neither partner over 45 years old).
  • If married, couples must be within their first five years of marriage (or very close to it!).
  • At least one partner must be Jewish. We define that broadly—if you have at least one Jewish parent or grandparent, that counts.
  • At least one partner must have no prior organized Israel trip experience as an adult (i.e. if both partners have been on Birthright, you are ineligible, but if one of you went on a middle or high school trip, you’re good).
  • Couples must live in the Greater Boston area.
