Over 100 community members united at Congregation Shirat Hayam of the North Shore for Jewish National Fund-USA’s inaugural Breakfast for Israel, where New Englanders showed their staunch support for the land and people of Israel while learning how the organization’s “circles of impact” have brought Israel’s northern and southern regions to life.

Chaired by Jay Shuman, the event’s keynote speaker was Alon Ben-Gurion, the grandson of Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion. An acclaimed international hospitality consultant, Alon Ben-Gurion has managed the revenue and operations of hotels around the world and is now using his extensive network and hospitality know-how to actively promote development in Israel’s Negev region and realize the dream of his saba (grandfather).

Local lay leaders also showcased how Jewish National Fund-USA is leading efforts to rebuild and rehabilitate Israel’s battered North and South. By investing in new housing sites, employment initiatives, medical centers, mental health services, schools, playgrounds, resilience centers, and more, the organization is creating multiple “circles of impact” that support its vision of attracting 800,000 new residents to Israel’s frontier regions.

“When future generations look back, they will see us as the link that strengthened the chain—honoring those who built and secured the Jewish homeland,” said event co-chair Jay Shuman. “Our philanthropy builds cities, playgrounds, and bomb shelters. It protects and maintains historical sites that tell our story. Your support provides emergency services and aids farmers, teachers, and soldiers. You bring water to dry land while educating, empowering, and strengthening the next generation. There is nothing more hopeful than investing with Jewish National Fund-USA.”
