Deborah L. Coltin, president and executive director of Lappin Foundation, recently graduated from Spertus Institute in Chicago with a leadership certificate in combating antisemitism. The program was created in 2023 to prepare Jewish communal professionals in executive leadership positions of North American Jewish organizations with the tools and training they need to respond to the complex and challenging threats reflected in contemporary antisemitism.
The eight-month program consisted of 11 weeks of real-time online training, an intensive five-day seminar at Spertus Institute and the implementation of a project addressing antisemitism. Coltin’s project was a virtual summit for Massachusetts education stakeholders about the National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism in K-12 Schools. The virtual summit attracted more than 400 educators, lawmakers, community leaders, students and others.
