Lyndell’s Bakery
This old-school bakery nestled in Somerville’s Ball Square is known for impossibly fresh cannoli, muffins and cheesecake, served from across a glass counter. There’s no frills here, but the colorful atmosphere—and the freshness—is unbeatable.
Sugar Factory
The name says it all: This Instagram-friendly, tourist and teen haven, new to Faneuil Hall, has a plethora of outrageous desserts, including a massive New York-style cheesecake topped with blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, plus raspberry sauce and whipped cream. Bring your favorite filter.

This cheery gluten- and peanut-free bakery with locations in Burlington and Millis makes a mean carrot cake cheesecake, served in adorable personal portions.
