As Habaita’s “Summer of Tkumaan innovative summer camp program in northern Israel for students in fourth through 12th grades—comes to a successful close, we’re excited to share the impact it has had on the communities in the Western Negev. This summer, with the support of CJP’s Israel Emergency Fund, Habaita was able to create meaningful programs for children and families, bringing a sense of normalcy and hope during challenging times.

Below is a heartfelt letter from Izhar Armony, a Boston-based social entrepreneur driving this work forward, expressing gratitude for CJP’s involvement and highlighting the success the community has seen as a result of this initiative. CJP is proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our communities, both in Boston and Israel.

Letter from Izhar Armony:

As the “Summer of Tkuma” project comes to an end, I wanted to share this amazing video with you and thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your friendship and your help in this project.

Simply put, this would not have happened without you.

Data from the first day of school in the Western Negev shows about 85% enrollment vs. September of last year. This is at the very high end of our expectations (from our March 2024 study), and I believe that in great part should be attributed to the very meaningful summer activity, that, again, wouldn’t have happened without your leadership and the generosity of our communities.

Thank you!
