Shawsheen Valley Hadassah serves Burlington, Bedford, Billerica, Chelmsford, Woburn and Lowell.
The goals of Shawsheen Valley Hadassah are to:
- Provide and promote in Israel a broad program of health activities, social services and youth welfare work
- Foster Zionist ideals in America
- Further Jewish education and encourage our membership to study Jewish history, literature, etc.
- Promote health awareness and provide personal enrichment and growth for our members
The activities of Shawsheen Valley Hadassah closely parallel the goals of our national organization, Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. We are extremely active in fundraising for medical facilities in Israel. We support the Hadassah Medical Organization, College of Technology, Youth Aliyah and other programs in Israel. In the United States, we support legislation of concern to women and Israel. We provide opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. We offer a book group, an educational series and fundraisers, and we partner with other Jewish organizations for special projects.
This year, at the Hadassah National Convention, the Shawsheen Valley Chapter was awarded the Hannah L. Goldberg Award for most outstanding Jewish education study group for our Salon Study Group series.
