Or Emet is a new memorial park within the Baker Street Jewish cemeteries. In a beautiful, serene setting, Or Emet has 1,200 spaces – including single, companion and family plots – to accommodate those who desire a traditional Jewish burial.

For more than half a century, Temple Emeth has provided cemetery spaces for members of the Boston Jewish community. The original Temple Emeth Memorial Park met the needs of Jewish families since 1957, has been essentially sold out for over five years. The completed development of the distinctive adjoining property, Or Emet, will allow Temple Emeth to continue serving the community into the future.

Or Emet is conveniently located on the border of Newton, Brookline and West Roxbury. On high ground with a beautiful view, Or Emet offers both privacy and open space with multiple meditation areas where visitors can sit, rest and reflect. Impeccably maintained, the area is surrounded by majestic hemlock trees. It features circular walkways and is accessible for people with disabilities.

The name Or Emet – Genuine Light – suggests that the radiance of the human soul is timelessly cast upon those touched by its selflessness, loyalty and love.

Or Emet conveys an aura of timelessness, both for loved ones who have passed and all those who come to visit. The Meditation Gardens are serene and evocative, underscoring the everlasting power of memory. The unique book-shaped stone holder provides stones for visitors to place upon a grave site, representing the permanent significance of that person’s life.

There are no annual or additional maintenance charges at Or Emet – our strong and stable perpetual care fund ensures that the beautiful appearance of our grounds will be maintained for generations to come.
