Yom Kippur Family and Afternoon Services

Temple Emanuel of the Merrimack Valley invites everyone to our Yom Kippur services! We do not charge for seats (we rely on voluntary donations from attendees), and do not require tickets or reservations—just come to celebrate and pray with us.

We welcome all who wish to explore Jewish practice. Our community includes both Jewish and Jewish/interfaith families, families of multiple ethnicities and geographic origins, and LGBTQ+ families and individuals. Note that our large evening and morning services will be held at UTEC; other services are at TEMV itself. Both locations are accessible to those with disabilities.

Wednesday, Oct. 9:

• 12:15 p.m.: Study and reflection with rabbinic intern Jennifer Stevens
• 2 p.m.: Family service (Our brief, engaging family service will include liturgical highlights as well as songs, a story and shofar calls! This is a wonderful opportunity for adults and children to worship together, as well as for those who may have other school or work obligations in the morning, are looking for a taste of TEMV or would simply enjoy a shorter service.)
• 3 p.m.: Quiet time in the sanctuary for meditation and prayer, with our own Western Wall
• 4 p.m.: Mincha/afternoon service with Torah reading
• 5 p.m.: Yizkor service of memory and reflection
• 6:15 p.m.: Neilah (closing service)
• 7 p.m.: Havdalah and potluck break-the-fast (please bring food that doesn’t need cooking or heating; RSVP to breakfast@temv.org)
