“When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not wrong him. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” —Leviticus 19:33-34

Join The Vilna and Repair the World to support Boston’s immigrant community in remembering that we, too, were once strangers in a strange land. In 1888, Lithuanian immigrants to Boston created what would become The Vilna Shul. As much as we are now a center for arts and culture, The Vilna is also a repository of decades of immigrant stories.

Together, let’s help welcome newcomers as we pack household supplies for immigrant families served by International Institute of New England (IINE) and learn how to support asylum seekers with the Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy (MIRA) Coalition. We’ll also make cards to welcome newly arriving immigrants.
