Breathe life into your extra soul in this music-filled Shabbat gathering!
Join us for Asiyah’s second Shabbaton with musician, songwriter and prayer-leader extraordinaire Yoel Sykes of Nava Tehila, the Jerusalem-based musical group and prayer community.
In this unique Shabbaton experience, we’ll explore the neshama yetera (extra soul), which Jewish tradition says is available to us on Shabbat. Through musical prayer, text learning, small-group work and movement, we’ll explore the neshama yetera in relationship with self, community and divinity.

About Yoel Sykes
Yoel Sykes is an Israeli musician and one of the leaders and composers in the popular group Nava Tehila, a nonprofit community of musicians that focuses on elevating spiritual/prayer experience through music. He travels to Jewish communities around the world to lead musical prayer services, concerts, and workshops. He has studied music at the Center for Eastern Music in Jerusalem and flamenco guitar in Seville, Spain. He now lives in Colorodo, where he is studying as a rabbinical student through Aleph: the Alliance for Jewish Renewal.
