What could be better than an afternoon of mah jongg? Join us for a bracket-style tournament to determine our mah jongg champion, facilitated by Sarah Wasser. Successive games will be played every half hour until we crown our winner…with a cash prize! We will also arrange games for those knocked out of the tournament so everyone can continue in the fun.
Note: The tournament will be hosted at realmahjongg.com. There is a 14-day free trial for new users ($5.99/month after that). There is no payment information required for the free trial. All games will be played with the 2020 card. If you need the 2020 card, you can order it online here. Please note that the Vilna and HMI have no affiliation to the mah jongg websites.
In partnership with Honeymoon Israel.
Sarah Wasser is the director of community engagement for Honeymoon Israel in Boston and an avid mah jongg player. She first learned to play in 2011 from her aunts using her grandmother’s old set, and continued to play whenever the family got together. She started a weekly game in Boston in 2018 after receiving a set for her birthday.
