Extremist violence has become a pressing global issue. Much of this violence targets Jews, minorities, and other vulnerable groups worldwide. Why is violent extremism surging now, and what are the implications for Jews in the United States, Europe, and Israel?

Join us for an insightful presentation by Dr. Arie Perliger, a distinguished expert in political violence and extremism, as he delves into the causes, growth, and potential strategies to combat violent extremism across the U.S., Europe, Israel and its neighbors.

About Dr. Arie Perliger

Dr. Perliger is a professor at UMass Lowell and was director of the graduate program in security studies at the School of Criminology and Justice Studies. From 2010-2016 he served as a director of terrorism studies at the United States Military Academy at West Point. For more than 20 years, Dr. Perliger has been engaged in an extensive study of terrorism and political violence, security policy, and extremism of the far right. His latest book is “American Zealots – Inside Right-Wing Domestic Terrorism.” Previous books have addressed the links between political parties and extremist groups, Middle Eastern terrorism, and violent extremism on the Israeli far right. Dr. Perliger was also engaged in training practitioners from the FBI, CIA and other agencies, and has briefed high-ranking U.S. government officials and military leaders.
