Storytelling has always been at the heart of Jewish tradition, serving as both a means of preserving community and transmitting identity. Join Community Creative Fellow Miriam Anzovin for a workshop engaging with Jewish texts, particularly the story of Serach Bat Asher, a central yet often overlooked female figure in Jewish lore.

We will dive into texts that offer Serach not only a personification of storytelling but also a heroine in the Exodus tale—her story holds profound meaning for how we think about the power of narrative in Jewish life. Participants in this engaging workshop will also be encouraged to consider how we each might retell Serach’s story in our own voice, and how we might bring her symbolic presence into our own Passover rituals.

This program and the Riverway Project are for those in their 20s & 30s.

Miriam Anzovin is a huge Jewish nerd, storyteller, and artist, putting ancient discourse in direct communication with modern internet culture, pop culture, and current events.
