Join us on Leap Day to hear the dynamic duo of clarinetist Julian Milkis and pianist Maxim Lubarsky, both hailing from Odesa, Ukraine.
The only living pupil of Benny Goodman, Julian is an internationally renowned performer of both classical music and jazz. Lubarsky, a professor at Berklee College of Music, is likewise equally comfortable in both spheres. The program will feature a range of composers from the 18th to the 21st centuries, much of it falling in the intersection between jazz and classical.
The program includes pieces by Astor Piazzola, Sergey Rachmaninov, Ennio Morricone and George Frideric Handel, as well as by notable post-Soviet composers Arvo Pärt (Estonia), Giya Kancheli (Georgia), Yuri Povolotsky (Ukraine) and Alexander Rodin (Ukraine/Belarus).
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30. All seating except “front row” is unassigned. Total program runtime is 2 hours, including an intermission.
We recommend buying tickets online; if spots are still available, tickets will be available at the door, and payment will be cash or check only at $40.
