The film will be followed by a Q&A with Paul Newman, son of Walter Newman z”l, and Rabbi David Starr, Ph.D., noted Dewey Stone historian who has a role in the film.

“The Dewey Stone Connection: From Exodus to Independence” pieces together personal accounts with extensive research. The film reveals Dewey Stone of Brockton, his incredible life story and his instrumental, uncredited role in the struggle for the creation of the State of Israel. Growing up in Brockton after World War II, Walter Newman’s young imagination was sparked by rumors regarding his neighbor Dewey Stone’s supposed involvement in “clandestine activities on behalf of the Jewish cause.” Six decades later, after unintentionally stumbling onto new information, Walter begins to investigate.
