Do you or does a teen you know want to make a difference in the lives of students with disabilities and diverse learning needs? Looking for a fun, meaningful way to earn community service hours and build lifelong skills? If you are a Boston-area teen in grades 10-12, you can apply to volunteer in Gateways’ Sunday morning Jewish education programs.
Our Teen Volunteer Program isn’t your average volunteer experience. What makes our program stand out is not the skillset you’ll gain or the volunteer hours you’ll collect, but the relationships that you’ll build with students as you support them in experiencing a Jewish education that is accessible, joyful, and meaningful. Volunteers receive weekly training and support from on-site special education teachers and administrators, learning valuable skills they can take with them to college and beyond.
Gateways’ Teen Volunteer Program is holding two informational sessions over Zoom. Prospective teen volunteers for the 2025-26 school year will meet with Gateways staff to learn about the program and find out more about the application process. Teens who will be in 10th-12th grade in the fall of 2025 are eligible to attend. For questions or more information, email coordinator Jodi Katz.
