Join us for the first session in our series when we will visit the Jewish community of South Korea.
Jews have been residing in Korea since the 1950s due to the presence of American soldiers. However, since the beginning of this century, South Korea has grown into a popular global destination for business, education and travel.
About our guide:
Anna Jo is the co-founder of Hakehillah Korea, the only progressive Jewish community in Seoul, South Korea. She arrived in 2010 and is among the first generation of Jews in South Korea to make real Jewish history and community there. Hakehillah Korea was officially founded in late 2017. They are a very small community with no permanent building and low funds. Anno Jo is excited to show how her dynamic community works and how it has grown!
This series is made possible by a grant from the Congregation Ahabat Shalom Religious Fund and other generous donors.
