Our late night creative experiences are an island in time, an unrushed opportunity to reflect on the extraordinary sounds and themes that mark our holidays. The shofar, a biblical instrument crafted from the horn of a ram, is used to alert and awaken us when it is sounded. On Erev Rosh Hashanah, we sit with the various sounds of the shofar that we will hear throughout the holidays, exploring their significance, experiencing how we respond to their call as they awaken us to the new year.
Gather with us onsite. We kindly ask you to wear a mask in our building. Tickets are required. A ticket to any of the High Holy Day services at Temple Israel gives you admission to the Shofar Experience, as well as any of the other Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur services. Prices for those tickets range from $0-180.
