In a virtuoso solo performance, Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn (“Nomadland,” “Good Night, and Good Luck, Lincoln”) portrays Jan Karski, a Polish World War II hero and Holocaust witness. Karski, a Polish diplomat and courier (who figures large in the movie “Shoah”) risked his life to carry the first eyewitness reports of the extermination of 1.8 million Polish Jews to world leaders. To his horror, his reports were dismissed.

Strathairn exquisitely captures Karski’s bold venture and tragic voice as he struggles, in vain, to shake the conscience of the world.

Followed by a conversation with actor David Strathairn, director/co-writer Derek Goldman, director/cinematographer Jeff Hutchens and producer Eva Anisko in person.

This film is screening in-person as part of the 34th annual Boston Jewish Film Festival and the Cummings Social Justice film series.
