On the occasion of his upcoming retirement after nearly 40 years as senior rabbi at Temple Emanu-El in Providence, Rabbi Wayne Franklin’s career-long work on interfaith relations will be honored at a symposium and reception at Temple Emanu-El.

Open to members of all faiths, this symposium will celebrate Rhode Island’s rich tradition of interfaith dialogue, recognize Rabbi Franklin’s contributions to that tradition and inspire ongoing commitment to interfaith dialogue in the future as a living tribute to Rabbi Franklin’s work.

The program will include a panel of speakers representing Jewish, Catholic, Islamic and Protestant traditions who will discuss their views about the importance of interfaith dialogue. A special presentation to Rabbi Franklin and then a dessert reception will follow.

The program is free and open to interested individuals of all faiths. While not required, RSVPs are requested to assist with planning.
