Join Cantorial Intern Sarah Bolts, along with talented Shir Hadash musicians, for a pot luck supper and special musical Kabbalat Shabbat service! We’ll begin with a dairy/parve pot luck supper and continue with a Kabbalat Shabbat service led by Sarah, the Shir Hadash chorus and instrumentalists. The service will include many singable melodies in Hasidic and Klezmer styles. Everyone is encouraged to come and sing along!
We are a small, Reconstructionist congregation committed to a welcoming and egalitarian approach to Jewish practice. We invite you to participate in our rotating schedule of rabbi-led and member-led Shabbat morning services and Friday night potluck dinners each month. We also offer adult education, social action, and social activities throughout the year.
Shir Hadash meets in the Social Hall of the Lutheran Church of the Newtons, 1310 Centre Street, Newton Centre, a short walk from the Newton Centre T stop, across from the municipal parking lot adjacent to Learning Express and Pure Barre.
