The Monday Morning Cooking Club, a group of Australian women who author a popular series of cookbooks, will present a virtual Jewish Book Council author talk about their new book, “Now for Something Sweet.”
The event, hosted by Falmouth Jewish Congregation and Worcester JCC, can be viewed by the public thanks to FCTV, which will carry the program live on FCTV Public Channel 13 in Falmouth. After a year of similar events limited to its members, Falmouth Jewish Congregation is pleased to welcome back the public to its monthly author talks.
After three best-selling cookbooks, the irrepressible Monday Morning Cooking Club has now published a collection of mostly sweet heirloom recipes that are as treasured as they are mouthwatering. “Now for Something Sweet” was the winner of the Jane and Stuart Weitzman Family Award for Food Writing and Cookbooks in the 2020 National Jewish Book Awards. It’s a gorgeous book with beautiful photos, accessible recipes and moving stories of family and history, community and survival. While its focus is the Jewish community and its food, the book appeals to cooks and bakers from all traditions, who can learn and sample foods from other cultures and gain insight into how other families and communities sustain themselves through the transmission of food traditions.
Books are available from Eight Cousins Bookstore in Falmouth and can be ordered in person, by phone or online at eightcousins.com.
