Join us for an unforgettable evening of music and celebration at Congregation Kehillath Israel. Jacob’s Ladder will perform live, bringing their unique blend of Jewish and roots/Americana music, with soulful melodies and catchy rhythms. Get ready to listen, dance, sing along, and have a great time with friends and family.

“Melaveh Malkah,” literally translated to “Escorting the Queen,” is the Hebrew term for the transitional moment from the experience and prominence of our “Shabbat Queen” into the weekday. One of the leading Jewish mystics, 16th-century Isaac Luria states that the soul of Shabbat doesn’t depart until the closing of the Melaveh Malkah meal. In the spirit of this tradition, Jacob’s Ladder leads the community in one final soul-clinging musical gathering as we say goodbye to Shabbat with a familiar kavannah (intention) reminiscent of its grand welcoming. Experience the magic of the musical energy and soul-clenching melodies, and feel the presence of community, new and old friends, and deep Jewish connection.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for light refreshments and socializing, with music at 7:30 p.m.
