Join artist Adriana Katzew and musician Yoni Battat in a workshop that honors the objects that hold our stories and connect us across time and space. Through the lens of a thousand-year-old Hebrew poem, participants will rediscover the significance and life in their own sacred objects by journaling and sharing about them, and then photographing them.
Yoni will share the music that he set to the poem and discuss memory in music. Adriana will gather the participants’ stories and images to create a collective art piece. Together, Adriana and Yoni will help us draw our loved ones close and ground us in who we are, where we’ve come from and where we’re going.
Participants are kindly asked to each bring an object that carries memory or holds a special meaning to them or their family, as well as a cell phone or digital camera to photograph the object.
This event is designed specifically to create community for those who identify as Jews of color, indigenous and Latinx Jews, Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews.
Limited to 25 people.
