Dese works with Boston-Haifa’s Netivim program in Haifa, supporting pre-army Ethiopian youth and their parents in preparation for entry to the Israel Defense Forces. Dese grew up in Haifa and is a graduate of Acharai and a former IDF soldier. He believes deeply in the mission of Netivim/Acharai and acts as an important role model for the youth that he works with.
