Join us for a lowkey convo where we’ll discuss what’s happening on social media right now and explore some of the ways in which we can educate ourselves, advocate and create opportunities for conversation. Moderated by the JTI Peer Leadership Fellows, we’ll be joined by Dr. Rachel Fish to break down the current situation happening in Israel and how we can navigate the current climate of antisemitism and misinformation.

This conversation is open to all Jewish teens in grades 8-12 and will not be recorded.

Dr. Fish was most recently the founding executive director of the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism and led the social media initiative [tbh]: Together Beat Hate. Prior to that, she was senior advisor and resident scholar of Jewish/Israel philanthropy at the Paul E. Singer Foundation in New York City and worked closely with grantees to support them and provided framing around their educational content and programming. Dr. Fish was also the executive director of the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University, where she helped train the next generation of academics in the field of Israel studies. She has taught at Brandeis University, Harvard University, UMass Amherst and in adult Jewish education programs. Dr. Fish completed her dissertation entitled, “Configurations of Bi-nationalism: The Transformation of Bi-nationalism and Palestine/Israel 1920s-Present,” on the history of bi-nationalism and alternative visions for constructing the State of Israel. She is co-editor, with Ilan Troen, of the book “Essential Israel: Essays for the Twenty-First Century.” Dr. Fish has written articles for several publications in the mainstream press and academic journals.
