In 1975, a demolition crew in central Israel was clearing away the remains of an old kibbutz when a small entryway leading to a secret chamber was revealed. Through interviews with surviving group members, the film recounts the 1947 construction of The Ayalon Institute, a secret ammunition factory built by youth from the Haganah (Jewish underground military) that was made to fool the British into thinking it was a kibbutz during the British Mandate.
“Code Name Ayalon” tells the never-before-told tale about how a small group of Jewish teens took on millions of foes arrayed against them, and miraculously triumphed.
