In the Jewish community, February is Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance and Inclusion Month. To honor the charge to engage in disability issues, Falmouth Jewish Congregation invites the public to a free public presentation by Lisa Judelson about life with a guide dog.
The organization Guiding Eyes for the Blind matched and trained Lisa and her dog, Iron, and the two have been together for two years now. Lisa will discuss how they came together, how they interact with the community and how Iron has changed her life and that of her family. Lisa will also reflect on the landscape of changing rules and regulations regarding service animals and about guide dog etiquette. There will be ample time for your questions as well.
An optional brown bag lunch precedes the talk at noon (please no pork or shellfish, according to FJC dietary regulations). The congregation will provide drinks and desserts.
