Tashlich is nature-based High Holiday ritual in which we toss crumbs into the water, symbolically casting aside our failures from the previous year. Let’s transport ourselves to the shore via the violin and fiddle music created by Rachel Panitch, inspired by her artist-in-residencies in Zion and Acadia National Parks. This music of nature is a fitting soundtrack for leaving behind the previous year and appreciating the natural beauty that surrounds us now.
Rachel Panitch is a Boston-based violinist, improviser, composer and teaching artist. She has been an artist-in-residence in neighborhoods, in schools and in Zion and Acadia National Parks. She is the 2019 recipient of the W.K. Rose Fellowship in the Creative Arts. She is a resident musician with musiConnects and a founding member of both Cardamom Quartet and Thread Ensemble, which creates participatory works for audience, vibraphone and violins.
