Join Women’s Philanthropy’s Israel Committee for an engaging session on the history and impact of Israeli TV. We’ll host Dr. Shayna Weiss, an expert on Israeli pop culture, in conversation with Miriam Anzovin, JewishBoston’s The Vibe of the Tribe podcast co-host, for a lively discussion on this booming cultural renaissance for Israel—and why many Americans are tuning in.

Women’s Philanthropy Israel Events are unique programs designed for women interested in learning more about Israel with dynamic speakers, interactive presentations and a rich array of educational resources.
Dr. Shayna Weiss is the associate director at Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University. Dr. Weiss was the inaugural Distinguished Visiting Scholar in Israel Studies at the United States Naval Academy. She earned her Ph.D. from New York University in Hebrew and Judaic studies. She completed postdoctoral fellowships in Israel at Bar Ilan University and Tel Aviv University, where she taught courses about Israeli history and society. She has also taught at Brooklyn College and New York University. Her research interests converge at the intersection of religion and gender in the Israeli public sphere, as well as the politics of Israeli popular culture.
