J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami will be joined by Knesset Member and former IDF General Amram Mitzna to discuss why peace is possible, just and necessary, and what pro-Israel Americans can do to make it a reality. Mitzna is currently a member of Knesset in Tzipi Livni’s Hatnuah party, part of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s governing coalition. He serves as the chairman of Knesset’s Education Committee.
Mitzna will be joined by a member of the US negotiating team working to broker an agreement, Dr. Michael Yaffe, Senior Advisor to the Special Envoy for Israeli Palestinian Negotiations. An audience question-and-answer session will follow.
Town Hall meetings are taking place in cities all across the country this spring as part of J Street’s 2 Campaign. The 2 Campaign demonstrates the great and growing number of pro-Israel Americans who will stand behind US leaders supporting the tough compromises necessary to reach a two state solution.
ABOUT THE 2 CAMPAIGN:
For the first time in 5 years, Israeli and Palestinian negotiators are sitting down together. They’re working behind closed doors to craft the agreement central to our shared vision: two states for two peoples. While the details may be complex and the choices ahead difficult, the issues are clear, and it’s time for those who support a two-state resolution to this conflict to stand up and say so.
