Join us for an evening of learning and celebration! Mosaic: Interfaith Youth Action, in collaboration with Boston Education and Counseling, invites youth to a special interfaith spring holiday celebration! This gathering will be a meaningful time of reflection and joy, taking place during Ramadan, when we will come together to break fast (Iftar) at sunset.
Explore the Meaning of Spring Holidays:
Spring is a time of renewal, liberation, and unity across many faiths. Together, we’ll hear from religious leaders about the significance of these special celebrations:
- Ramadan (Islam): A sacred month of fasting, prayer, and reflection, observed from sunrise to sunset.
- Passover (Judaism): A festival commemorating the Jewish people’s liberation from slavery in Egypt, marked by a seder meal and storytelling.
- Easter (Christianity): A celebration of resurrection and renewal, symbolizing hope and new beginnings.
- Vaisakhi (Sikhism): A festival marking the birth of the Khalsa and the harvest season, celebrated with prayer, music, and community gatherings.
- Holi (Hinduism/Jainism): The festival of colors, symbolizing the arrival of spring, the triumph of good over evil, and the joy of togetherness.
- Naw Ruz (Bahá’í Faith): The Bahá’í New Year, a time of spiritual renewal and reflection, coinciding with the spring equinox.
- Festival of Ridván (Bahá’í Faith): The holiest Bahá’í festival, celebrating Bahá’u’lláh’s declaration of his mission, a time of joy and community.
