Introducing “In Our Self-Care Era,” a series of programs that offer different ways to build resilience, fight stigma and thrive from within.

Join the JTI Peer Wellness Fellows and BaMidbar as we gather as a community of #JewishBostonTeens to talk about mental health!

Register for one or all of the teen-led workshops.

All Jewish teens in grades 8-12 are encouraged to join us for the following events:

Thrive & Chill: Coping Skills for a Better You
Sunday, March 16, 4-5:30 p.m.
Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland

Help us kick off this series where we’ll explore effective coping skills through creativity and mindfulness. You’ll make your own stress ball, practice mindful eating, and dive into art activities that help calm the mind and promote relaxation. This hands-on workshop will give you practical tools to manage stress while having fun and expressing yourself creatively! It’s the perfect way to unwind and build healthy habits for handling life’s challenges.

Facilitators: Madelyn Goldsmith, Rachel Kutin, Rachel Hickey and Alex Sirk

Emotions Unleashed: Becoming Aware with Animals
Sunday, March 23, 3-5:30 p.m.
Natick Community Organic Farm

Come hang out with us while we explore emotional awareness and intrinsic motivation in a relaxed, hands-on setting with some furry friends!
Through petting and interacting with animals, we’ll reflect on how animals can teach us about emotions and mindfulness. We’ll also dive into how intrinsic motivation can guide us in setting personal goals and finding inner drive.

Facilitators: Daniel Hiam, Cole Ogden, Vanessa Finder, Alex Sinrich, Emily Zisow, Avery Kerble and Abby Raider

Artistic Minds: Exploring Mental Health Through Creativity
Sunday, April 27, 3-5:30 p.m.
Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland

This will be a unique, teen-led event where we’ll explore the Japanese art of kintsugi, the practice of mending broken pottery with gold, as a metaphor for mental health and healing. Through hands-on art, we’ll discuss the beauty of resilience and the strength found in imperfection. Afterward, we’ll dive into a theater workshop focused on building healthy relationships, where you’ll explore communication, boundaries, and self-care through creative expression.

Facilitators: Addie Robie, Ethan Sonnenberg, Sabrina Wolf, Breanna Weiss, Ava Plofsky and Talia Wilk
