How Antisemitism Grows: Lessons from Boston’s 1930s Nazi Movement
The Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies at Boston University and American Jewish Committee (AJC) New England are pleased to present Dr. Charles Gallagher, S.J., author of the acclaimed book, “Nazis of Copley Square: The Forgotten Story of the Christian Front,” for a talk about the rise of the Nazi movement in Boston and New York before, during, and after the Second World War.
About Dr. Charles R. Gallagher, S.J.
Dr. Gallagher is an Assistant Professor of History at Boston College and the author of several acclaimed books. Among these is his book “Nazis of Copley Square,” which has garnered widespread praise for having “vividly brought to life a little known, largely shameful, and eminently intriguing episode of American history.” In an era where antisemitism and extremism is again finding a home in American political life, Gallagher’s little-known history of the Nazi movement in Boston and New York speaks to the challenges of our time and reminds us that dangerous extremism can happen anywhere.
