The Biblical story of the assault of Dina and its violent aftermath makes for difficult reading. Many of us have been impacted by cases of abuse—personally and communally. In our upcoming HerTorah session victim advocate and researcher Dr. Guila Benchimol and scholar/advocate Rabbi Mira Wasserman will teach this difficult text, offering us a greater understanding of the survivor experience and exploring how communities can respond to cases of gender-based violence.
Join us for this sensitive and critical conversation in partnership with the SRE Network. This will be hard and important learning. We are grateful to be doing it together with you.
HerTorah gathers together a diverse community of Jewish women to connect over our shared heritage, explore our collective wisdom, and elevate our communal experience in learning with and from one another. This gathering welcomes women* 12+ and learners of all backgrounds.
Please note that this sensitive conversation will be about sexual victimization. We acknowledge that these important conversations may be difficult and painful. Please take the care you need for your well-being and safety if you join us.
Questions? Email connect@svivah.org. SVIVAH defines “Jewish woman” as anyone wishing to be included in a circle of Jewish women. If you want to be here, we want you to be here.
