Join us for “The Future of Israeli Democracy: Judicial Reform and Political Crisis – A Panel Discussion” with six Israel experts who will take us on a deep dive into the social and political implications of the proposed reforms with a global and comparative perspective.

In recent weeks, hundreds of thousands of Israelis have protested against the proposed judicial reforms of Netanyahu’s government. Why have these reforms provoked such reactions from the Israeli public, and what do they mean for the future of Israeli democracy?

The panel will be both in-person at Rapaporte Treasure Hall in the Goldfarb Library of Brandeis University, and also broadcast live on Zoom.

Panelists:

  • Menahem Ben-Sasson, chancellor of the Hebrew University and former chair of the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee. Ben-Sasson has been present for the current committee deliberations.
