The incoming Trump administration and Congress could seek major cuts to energy-saving programs, but what that looks like depends on the work that program supporters do. ACEEE, American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, is planning to be heavily involved in these debates. For the latest information on what we know about what the new administration and Congress are likely to do and what the key fights are likely to be, please join ACEEE Executive Director Steve Nadel for a discussion.
Since 1980, ACEEE’s rigorous research and advocacy to advance energy efficiency have helped strengthen the economy, protect the environment, and reduce the burden of high energy bills for American families. ACEEE experts have helped secure major progress in U.S. energy policy over the last four decades, from negotiating the first energy-saving standards for common household appliances in the 1987 National Appliance Energy Conservation Act to shaping the largest-ever federal investments in energy efficiency in 2022’s Inflation Reduction Act.
Nadel has worked in the energy efficiency field for more than 40 years, and has led ACEEE as executive director for over 20 years. Before going to Washington, Steve was in Massachusetts where in the 1980s he devised and ran energy efficiency programs first for Massachusetts Audubon and then for National Grid; he also worked with an inner city housing organization in Connecticut.
At 1 p.m. those interested can continue an open network discussion.
Co-sponsors include MassEnergize, Massachusetts Interfaith Power & Light, Building Electrification Accelerator and JCAN-MA.
