Exchange for Change is a three-month immersive service cohort run by Repair the World where participants can earn a $750 voucher for select Jewish immersive experiences.

Beginning in mid-April, Exchange for Change is designed for Boston-based young adults (18-35). Participants will have the opportunity to build community, strengthen their connection to Jewish tradition, and learn about the deep roots of service learning within Judaism.

As part of the program, participants will volunteer directly with our service partners and participate in facilitated cohort discussions, which explore the connection between spirituality, service, and the Jewish value of repairing the world, tikkun olam. At the end of the program, participants will choose an organization to receive $750 of credit toward a Jewish immersive experience. The options include: Justifi, JDC Entwine, Lech Lecha, Adamah Farm Fellowship, Isabella Freedman Retreats, and Moishe House!

Participants will also have the chance to get to know the rest of the Repair community through our monthly Days of Service and cohort time! Participants are expected to attend three planned Days of Service, five cohort sessions, and seven Repair-sponsored events over the course of the three months. The strength of the cohort depends on the full participation of all members, but we also know that things come up in our day-to-day lives; we’ll work with participants if there is a scheduling challenge.

Exchange for Change is possible through the support of Combined Jewish Philanthropies.
