This year, Asiyah’s Rosh Hashanah services will give us an opportunity to explore teshuva as not only a (re)turning, but as a turning toward: toward our past, our grief, our future, and ultimately our wholeness. The world is calling us—through its climate, through our yearnings for justice and human rights—into wholeness and resilience. Can we hear that call?
What to expect
Like all Asiyah services, there will be lots of songful, soulful, musical prayer—led by Rabbi David, along with guitarist Adam Simon and other musicians, singers and community voices. Whether you’ve never been to a Rosh Hashanah service or you’ve been doing it all your life, there’s something here for you—please join us!
We’ll start promptly at 6 so that we can wrap up with kiddush and apples and honey by 8 p.m.
Covid safety
We’ll be holding all our events outdoors, mostly under a tent. All participants will be required to wear a mask under the tent at all times and outside the tent when six-foot social distancing isn’t possible.
Tickets
We’re offering a donation-based, sliding-scale ticket that’s good for all the High Holy Days services you choose. When you register, you’ll be prompted to select which services you plan to attend (important for capacity tracking) and offer a donation that makes you feel good.
Registered Asiyah co-creators (members) are eligible for free tickets, but must register for contact tracing and capacity tracking. A limited number of free tickets are available to make these services accessible to all, regardless of financial resources.
