One of the main contributions of Hasidism to Jewish life and religion is the development of practices aimed at cultivating an awareness of the Divine in daily life.
But rather than develop new rituals or practices, the teachers of Hasidism went back to familiar Jewish rituals and to simple everyday activities and focused on methods through which these familiar activities could become vessels for spiritual practice.
In the three in-person meetings of this course, we will learn the basic premises of such practice, and explore Hasidic takes on the practice of cultivating a relationship with God, and ways to turn prayer and eating into spiritual practice.
This onsite class is led by Rabbi Ebn Leader.
The Center for Adult Jewish Learning at Temple Israel of Boston follows a “Pay What You Can” model for registration, with three pricing levels available. We also offer scholarships.
