Drivers of Israeli Democracy: Pluralism and Religious Freedom in Israel
Join us for the second installation of our Drivers of Israeli Democracy series. NIF’s Associate Director in Israel, Shira Ben Sasson Furstenberg, will discuss religious freedom issues in the aftermath of the April elections. A true expert in this field, Shira will explore the issues facing Jewish Israelis as a result of the Rabbinate’s monopoly and increased religiosity in Israeli society, and what this means for the democratic character of the state. These themes will be supported by film segments highlighting the work of female activists in this field.
