Welcome to an evening of study! We will begin at 8 p.m. with schmoozing and light refreshments, and with study commencing at 8:30 p.m. sharp.

Topics will include:

  • “When the King is a Fool: A Political Reading of the Book of Esther”  with Yehudah Mirsky of Brandeis University
  • “Between the Scepter and the Crown: The Tricky Game of Gender and Power – A Feminist Reading of the Book of Esther” presented by Tamar Biala, author of “Dirshuni-Midreshei Nashim, Volume 2”
  • “To Spiel or Not to Spiel: Using the Play to Catch the Conscience of the King – A Theatrical Reading of the Book of Esther” led by Steven Goldstein from the New England Conservatory of Music
