Become a Dementia Friends Champion at a special training for the Jewish community! Dementia Friends is a worldwide movement that is changing the way people talk, act and think about dementia. This online training will equip you with the knowledge and materials needed to facilitate a Dementia Friends information session with community members.
An information session is a virtual or face-to-face session that lasts approximately one hour and is run by a Dementia Friends Champion. It covers the five key messages everyone should know about dementia through activities and discussion. The goal is to help community members understand dementia and the small things they can do to make a difference for people living with dementia.
This training is free of charge and is intended for those who wish to become volunteer Dementia Friends Champions. We welcome adults and high school students in the Massachusetts Jewish community.
The trainer is Beth Soltzberg, MSW, MBA, lead for Dementia Friends Massachusetts and director of the Alzheimer’s/Related Dementias Family Support Program at Jewish Family & Children’s Service.
JF&CS is proud to lead Dementia Friends for Massachusetts.
